I wrote this song at 3 am when I was having a hard time sleeping. My 15-year-old daughter woke up and came downstairs wanting a chocolate milk while I was writing this song. I was stuck on a certain part in the Outro, and she immediately blurted out the line “And made it through the blaze” which went perfectly with the song. So thank you Alyssa for the assist!
This song is for all those who have been gaslighted by other people, friends, family, and loved ones. This song specifically is about the most vile Gaslighter ever… Satan himself. He tells us lies all the time about ourselves. Lies that destroy our confidence, self-worth, and peace.

This song is about all of the things within us that we hide from the world. Our inner most demons that make us feel like we don’t fit in, we aren’t worthy or aren’t deserving of God’s love. But those are all lies the devil tells us. The truth, is that because of Christ, we can be made whole. The things that need to be fixed can be fixed, the sins we hide and the desires of our hearts can change as we embrace the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
